Description:

From the opening melodic strains to the final bow, Boomsicle 2 will take a group of experienced musical improvisers and turn them into a mini-company!

Having already tackled the conditions that make up a longform improvised musical, including solo conditions, duet conditions, the trio effect and much, much more… Boomsicle Two will go further into exploring unscripted musical formats.

In this class we learn three formats: Musical Harold (disconnected connections), The Catalyst (moving backward and forwards in time) and we’ll learn how to improvise beats from within the confines of our own formats – all of which will be supported and showcased through a series of accompanying live performances.

Class instruction/rehearsal will be on Saturdays from 4pm-6pm, running for 8 weeks starting MARCH 31st (NOTE: no class on April 7th).

Workshop performance dates will include 4 of the following:

  • Tuesday, May 1 – 8pm
  • Tuesday, May 15 – 8pm
  • Tuesday, May 22 – 8pm
  • Tuesday, June 5 – 8pm
  • Tuesday, June 12 – 8pm

MUST HAVE PREVIOUS MUSICAL IMPROV EXPERIENCE (BOOMSICLE 1 strongly preferred), be comfortable with scenework and not be flustered by outside direction & coaching.

*Admission to this class is not guaranteed. Please fill out the information below and we will be in touch ASAP to confirm your enrolment or make alternate suggestions.*
