Carmine Lucarelli

Carmine began improvising early in the year 2000 and hasn’t stopped since. As a performer he has won a Canadian Comedy Award as part of the ensemble of Show Stopping Number: The Improvised Musical and was nominated for another as part of the cast of Dreadwood: Tales of the Canadian Klondike. He is an associate producer at the Bad Dog Theatre, co-directs their weekly Harold night and has created shows like Recessioname Street and Bible: The Lost Bits. He has been teaching and coaching comedy for several years, and has sat in the director’s chair for plays, sketch ensembles and improv troupes.

Carmine’s students often comment on the passion, positivity and enthusiasm he brings to teaching, and his ‘learn by doing’ style that gives students less time listening to a lecture and more time applying the lessons.

Carmine knows how to challenge his students individually to help them reach their full potential! He’s one of the best teachers I’ve ever had!

Carmine is so funny and so passionate about improv, storytelling and performance, that at the end of a class you feel like you’ve just watched a show and been in it at the same time, and when it finished you were better at improv than you were before. One of the best and most inspiring teachers I’ve had in a long time of working in improv. I can’t wait to work with him again.

He creates a positive and fast paced learning environment enabling students to feel comfortable, all the while getting right into the action. He supports the risks you take and always has information to enlighten you and step up your game!
