The 2011 Mary Haynes Award goes to: MARCEL ST. PIERRE!

On behalf of the Bad Dog Board of Directors, it gives us great pleasure to invite you to a very special night.  This Saturday, December 17th, we will be celebrating a very special person in our community by awarding Marcel St. Pierre the Mary Haynes Award for outstanding alumni contribution. This award is given each year to an alumnus of the Bad Dog or Theatresports, and recognizes an individual who has embodied the spirit of selflessness, volunteerism and ensemble that is the heartbeat of the theatre. Past recipients include:  Gary Chan, Lisa Merchant, Cary West, Neil Muscott, and Jane Luk.

The Board of Directors is honoured to present this award to Marcel this year.  Likely no stranger to any of you, Marcel was one of the original ‘artistic trio’ of founding members along with Ralph MacLeod & Kerry Griffin and over the last few years has been a constant source of encouragement, inspiration and good cheer to our students, faculty and community at large.  One former student described Marcel as a “kind and generous soul… Who can make me laugh by doing almost nothing.”  Fortunately for us, he has done a great deal more than “nothing” for our theatre and community.  In fact, Marcel’s contributions are far too great to list so we won’t even try in the constraints of a measly few paragraphs.  Instead, we invite you to please join us at Comedy Bar (945 Bloor St. W.) starting at 7pm on December 17^th – to raise a glass and have laugh in celebration of the amazing Marcel St. Pierre and see/hear in person just how wonderful he is!
