TONTO'S NEPHEWS | |
![]() Tonto's Nephews: they're cute, too! | For one night only, Saturday, November 7th @ 10pm, it's Tonto's Nephews. The all-aboriginal troupe were one of the hottest improv troupes in the country, best known for their inimitable playfulness and sprawling narratives. Sid Bobb is a host of CBC's children's programming. Michaela Washburn has graced the stages of Buddies, The Factory and CanStage, as well as hosting CBC's Hockeyville. Darrell Dennis is the playwright behind the acclaimed Tales of an Urban Indian and is the creator and host of CBC Radio's Revision Quest. Herbie Barnes has been on television, radio and stages across the country. "For us, as natives, it's all about telling stories," says Barnes. "It's not about joke after joke. Improv leads to our own writing. Actually, for me, everything I do -- directing, acting, writing -- has come out of improv." |
