EGG ZEPPELIN
Welcome to Egg Zeppelin. Just another one of those tired old greasy spoons that you can still find if you look hard enough. Just a tiny hole in the wall, but the regulars knows there’s cheap food and great music coming out of the jukebox. It’s a place where life seems to slow down – and maybe even back up – because there’s always someone there to take you down a notch.
Egg Zeppelin reunites Bad Dog regulars Lisa Merchant, Kris Siddiqi and Marcel St. Pierre - stars of Bad Dog’s hit improv spoof BattleAwesome AwesomeStar (2009 Canadian Comedy Award-nominee for Best Comedic Play) who have collectively and individually been involved with such hit Toronto comedy mainstays as Theatresports, The Second City and Monkey Toast.
The series of 4 shows will be stand-alone, real-time one-act plays, based on audience suggestions taken right before the show starts. While every episode of Egg Zeppelin will stand on its own, fans will want to come weekly as continuity from the previous week will be referenced as the run continues. The trio will be joined every week by a stable of guests and improvisors from across the city.
A 3-time Canadian Comedy-Award winner in her own right, Merchant has been the directorial force behind the incredibly successful About an Hour troupe. Siddiqi and St. Pierre star as the dishwasher and head cook, two slacker wanna-be-bad-asses and best friends who love good classic rock and all-day breakfast!
