ADVANCED SERIES
Turning the Scene with James Gangl.
Wednesdays from 7pm to 10pm. Begins July 7th - no Class Aug 11th.
This class is designed for advanced students who have a solid foundation in improvisation performance. Scenes end for many reasons. If a scene blows, it ends out of mercy. If a scene is great, it ends at a natural edit point. But scenes in real life never end. After a drunken battle with an ex-lover, the door slams, but both lives continue, altered by the feud. This class provides techniques to initiate a scene quickly while instilling the confidence to continue the scene indefinitely. Without edits, students learn how to find “turns” in the scene. With more turns comes more intensity and with more intensity comes a greater payoff.
